I don’t give these boots enough love! I used to traipse around in them a lot more but for some reason they’ve been relegated to the back of my closet these past few seasons. They’re not uncomfortable but they’re not exactly run-after-the-the-train boots so I don’t break them out nearly enough – even so, I love them.
I snagged the wedges from Trish Summerville’s Dragon Tattoo collection at H&M from way back in 2011, and despite my aesthetic evolving since it came out, I’m still irrevocably in love with every single piece from that collection. These boots are the only remaining item I own, though truthfully, I never got any of the good stuff – except the denim jacket with faux leather sleeves that I sold as I thought it was too 80s with my hair, but that thing was not too 80s with my hair. It was perfect and I’ve kicked myself ever since. I’d still love the high tops or the maroon biker jacket from that collection, too. Damn, I want it.
But I’ll have to settle for these boots, which I paired with a relatively simple outfit to play off them as a statement piece. I’m into statement shoes more than any other kind of piece, they’re the most wearable to me. I’m much more likely to reach for an out-there shoe than a shirt or anything else mostly because they’re a “lazy” statement piece, you don’t have to think as hard to style them, and I’m all about quick and easy dressing.
