I picked up this blouse for $5 from Forever21 at some point this year and couldn’t bear to cover it with my jacket, so I braved the cold (at the time, mind you, it’s 80 degrees now) to snap a few photos. It’s one of those pieces that languished in the back of my closet for a few months but now I can’t get enough of it with this new hair cut – this shirt and a maroon, collared chiffon one had been on rotation until the temperature finally skyrocketed this week.
I find that details like the lace paneling here are what really catch my eye when looking for new additions. I have a tendency to pick simple cuts and muted colors no matter the season, but I’ve become more conscious of what added touches really do to elevate an outfit and add interest. I think that a lot of the work around refining your style hinges on this idea – what can do you change, add, remove, alter, or choose to bring about an even more distilled version of your vision?
